KT Video of the May Day Rally Speech 1982

My first attempt at producing a KT (Kinetic Typography) video for a client, of an excerpt from the May Day Rally Speech 1982 by the people's president, Mr Ong Teng Cheong (1936-2002). This is just a first draft though.

//NaraCre8//

Created a simple logo and website for one of my besties. She recently started an event design business that covers weddings, baby showers, parties and other events albeit small scale. On the design front, she expresses how much she would love to showcase her ideas, and not in a portfolio gallery way, to amplify her brand by showcasing the ideas as part of the design elements throughout her website. Her love for vintage items such as brown papers, colorful buttons, flowers, and other things that screams 'I'M UNIQUE!' makes it all so easy as my thought process works full speed around things I adore which in this case, I LOVE VINTAGE TOO.

Photos used in the background, were put together and captured by my bestie. Check it out @ naracre8.com.

If you'd like to engage someone perhaps for an engagement party or even a baby shower,

please do reach out to her via her contact details on the website.

//Caricature for the Ewok//

Tried my hands on caricature for a close friends' birthday present a few months back. Ideally I wanted to include more elements but eventually kept it simple - less is more.

Ink on woodfree paper. Framed and ready to go.

//The Elephant Parade//

Painted my very own elephant at the Elephant Parade workshop at Tangs in support of the Asian elephant conservation. I was a half hour late due to traffic (SMRT's delay that morning and all that goes into that, is testament to the fact that our transportation is utterly unreliable, and that the inflated travel fare goes straight into our government's pocket and not into providing a more stringent safety measure i.e. a VERY THOROUGH technical check). That aside, with only one half hour to finish my elephant, I decided to paint polka dots, in colors I love - black, white, brown and baby blue. Why polka dots? Coz I don't see them painted on the elephants as yet :)

Painting the base.

Hard at work painting circles.

And if you are in Singapore, you can join the workshop at Tangs. It is a two hour workshop, and there will be a contest for the best painted elephant with great prizes up for grab.

//Infographics//

Recently, I created a number of infographics now that it is in high demand. Clients are veered to using infographics now as they are interesting, contain easy-to-digest information and adds value. This creates a positive connection in the eyes of the consumer, thus making him more likely to engage your brand, find your information very insightful or buy your product depending on the key objective of the infographic. A few may request for press releases in the form of an infographic, while a fraction may prefer informative posters in that format of which are equally interesting.
At the end of the day, we are just attracted to colours and shapes, aren't we?

Check out my infographic via the press release below.

//Bubble-nim//

A special request pops up to mess up a denim dress for a free-spirited, beautiful, good friend, Mardy, who is currently pursuing her dreams and hopefully kicking Nat Geo Music channel's boring ass with her travelogue of inspiring street music/art performers and friends in South America, heading south to cover forty cities in thirty counties over ten months, spending five to seven days in each city. She currently huddles with The Busking Project who has filmed over two dozen acts across the globe and I heard, are an amazing bunch.

Please do visit their
website when you have the time or follow Mardy as she blogs excerpts of wanderlust and on the interesting folks she has crossed paths with on WheeWanderingMusings.

About the Bubble-nim dress - I used fabric paint and markers for the bubbles, and illustrate Ms Malika on the back, blowing bubbles of course :) There is a backview of a naked chick illustrated on the front but this one rocks better. I may have added more colours but figured I should just go simple and not let it be as chomot as I am. Didn't manage to take a picture of the dress at the end of my intensive work coz I forgot!

Thanks Mardy for the photos!

//What The Fuck's Yellow? And Then Go Berserk//

If you take someone's thoughts and feelings away, bit by bit, consistently, then they have nothing left, except some gritty, gnawing, shitty little instinct, down there, somewhere, worming round the gut, but so far down, so hidden, it's impossible to find. Imagine, if you will, a worldwide conspiracy to deny the existence of the colour yellow. And whenever you see yellow, they told you, no, that isn't yellow, what the fuck's yellow? Eventually, whenever you saw yellow, they would say: that isn't yellow, course it isn't, blue or green or purple, or. . . . You'd say it, yes it is, it's yellow, and become increasing hysterical, and then go berserk.

//Substation's Fundraising Mailer//

Conceived the scrapbook idea for the fundraising mailer a few years ago for BrainHook while I was freelancing with them. After which we had people from the Substation and our friends to volunteer in creating each booklet by hand. One of my projects I am extremely happy about, for doing my bit in helping to spread the message of flourishing art in Singapore. At that time, art was not supported by many as it is today.

//Swallowed Into The Vortex Of Time//

My mind is blocked with stuffed sheep, musty fleeces, mold-covered documents and discolored photographs. Its corners caked with unfulfilled dreams. It precipitate as weather, appearing from somewhere, then evaporates leaving only memory. The memory is taking on renewed reality. A palpable reality...
